Return & Exchange Timeframe

We accept returns and exchanges within 15 days from the date you receive your order. This gives you plenty of time to ensure your Madewell items fit perfectly and meet your expectations.

Initiate Your Return

Contact our customer service team at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your order. Please include your order number and the items you’d like to return or exchange.

Complete the Return Form

We’ll send you a return form to complete. Please fill this out and include it with your return package.

Package Your Items

Please return items in their original condition with tags attached. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.

Processing

Once we receive your return, we’ll process it within 3-5 business days and notify you via email.

Refund Information

Refund Timeline

Refunds are typically processed within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect your returned items.

Refund Method

Your refund will be issued to the original payment method used for your purchase:

  • Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB): 5-7 business days to appear on your statement
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days to reflect in your PayPal account

Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Important Notes

Non-Returnable Items: For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on sleepwear that has been removed from its original packaging or shows signs of wear.

All other items including coats, outerwear, hoodies, sweatshirts, jeans, pants, shirts, tops, and sweaters can be returned within the 15-day window.

Exchange Policy

We’re happy to exchange items for a different size or color, subject to availability. If the item you want is out of stock, we’ll process a refund instead.

Exchanges follow the same process as returns. Please indicate your preferred exchange item when contacting our customer service team.

International Returns

As we serve customers globally (excluding some Asian and remote regions), international returns are accepted following the same 15-day policy. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for international returns.
